Let's raise our voices
Statement by the International Secretariat
The entire Palestinian militias Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, Al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad, Al-Nasse Salah Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committees, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades of Fatah, Ali Mustafa Brigades of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Brigades of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Brigades of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, and other groups have obtained a resounding victory in the battle of northern Gaza at the beginning of January 2024.
This victory implies a serious blow to the imperialism of the United States and Israel, which leads the government of the Nazi-Zionist state, and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to desperate measures against the civilian population such as the attack on the city of Rafah. The Nazi and genocidal attack by the occupying army of Israel consists of 27,900 Palestinian deaths and more than 67,400 wounded, of which more than 70% are children and women. But as the imperialist circles themselves recognize, attacks on Israeli civilians have no effectiveness in defeating the Palestinian militias, and are of no use in winning battles on the ground.
The attacks on the civilian population, as is the case with Putin in Ukraine, are rather a demonstration of the IDF's impotence as a result of the defeats received on the battlefield. The objective set by Netanhayu of defeating the Palestinian militias is increasingly distant, as recognized by the New York Times, and the best demonstration of this is the victory achieved by the Palestinian militias in the battle of northern Gaza, which strengthens to the 3rd Intifada and opened a new revolutionary situation in the Middle East. Along with the defeat in northern Gaza, the advances in control of the Red Sea by the Houthi militia, the massive relocations of the Israeli population on the border with Lebanon, or the blows suffered by the North American bases in northern Gaza are revolutionary triumphs. Syria and Iraq, among others.
The bombings of imperialism against Yemen, as well as in Iraq, are a desperate attempt by imperialism to reverse the defeats but they cannot prevent the 3rd Intifada from being articulated as a complex of revolutions linked together with 7 fronts: 1) The battle of Gaza 2 ) The battle of the West Bank 3) The battle of southern Lebanon 4) The battle of Syria and Golan Heights 5) The battle of the Red Sea 6) The battle of Iraq 7) The global mobilization in support of Palestine. In turn, these fronts reopen revolutionary processes such as that of Syria against Bashar al Assad, which includes the fight for national self-determination of the Kurdish people, or the fight of the people of Iran against the dictatorship of the Ayatollah, among others.
The events have led imperialism and Israel throughout January 2024 to desperately seek an agreement that would lead to a ceasefire. But Israel rejected the offer from the Palestinian militias because it represented a humiliating recognition of defeat, as the Financial Times explains. Even the failed attempts to reach a ceasefire are the product of the important victories obtained by the militias in the battle for northern Gaza, and the changes that these events are causing in the political situation in the Middle East and the world.
1st front of the 3rd Intifada: The triumph of the battle of northern Gaza
Throughout the month of December, Netanhayu had claimed that Israel had triumphed in northern Gaza, and had "cleansed" the area of Palestinian guerrillas. But soon Israel's whole lie collapsed. On January 4, 2024, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the beginning of the "new phase" that involved the withdrawal of 35,000 soldiers from Gaza. Israel withdrew the 5th Infantry Brigade , the551st Brigade, the 14th Brigade, the 828th Brigade, the 261st Brigade, and the 460th Brigade which, added to the destruction of the Golani Brigade, the most important mercenary brigade, has left to Israel in a military disaster situation.
All of northern Gaza was once again in Palestinian hands, as stated by The Guardian: "They regroup in northern Gaza... they begin to rebuild the system of government in northern Gaza." This is recognized by Michael Milstein of the Institute for Palestinian Studies. of Israel's National Security who said that Hamas had reestablished control in the northern area of Gaza, the Shaati camp, the Jabaliya, Shejaiya refugee camps and Gaza City where Milstein said:" Hamas controls these areas. There is no chaos or emptiness because it is the workers of the Gaza municipality or the civil defense and rescue forces... who enforce public order ... The IDF version is that in the northern part of Gaza the basic military structure of Hamas was broken... That only works with a conventional army but not for a flexible guerrilla operation,"as Milstein tells The Guardian.
The lies of the Israeli government crumbled because no army that "succeeds" retreats from the battlefield. The same lies Putin told when he was defeated in the Battle of Kiev, and he announced that the "special military operation" in Ukraine was entering a "new phase." The occupiers and oppressors use these "euphemisms" to make their withdrawal announcements. They need to avoid publicly acknowledging that they have lost the battle, and to disguise the defeat they present it as a "new phase." But in reality, the serious defeat in the battle in northern Gaza is added to that suffered by Israel on October 7, 2023, which opened the phase of open and declared civil war in which Palestine finds itself today against the occupying troops .
Israel argues that the withdrawal of Israeli troops from northern Gaza is for "tactical issues." The reality is that they had to withdraw because they received a beating and enormous casualties in the face of the urban guerrilla war carried out by the Palestinian militias. IDF casualties are estimated at around 13,000, which means an average of almost 100 casualties per day, a figure that, as we have been stating, constitutes a true "Vietnam" for Israel.
In addition to the defeats suffered on the ground, Israel has failed in all the political objectives it has set out to achieve. The urban guerrilla war taking place in Gaza is destroying the Israeli army because the permanent ambushes and assaults suffered by the IDF troops serve to provide more and better weapons to the Palestinian militias.
As The New York Times explains in its article: "Where does Hamas get its weapons?" The article explains that Palestinian militias "... have been able to routinely recover unexploded Israeli bombs dropped on Gaza and then repurpose them into an offensive weapon ... Unexploded ordnance is the main source of explosives for Hamas."... have been able to build many of their rockets and anti-tank weapons from the thousands of munitions that failed to detonate when Israel launched them into Gaza." The article states that the weapons in the arsenals recovered in the Gaza Strip are also believed to be the result of the theft of weapons from Israeli military bases.
In that sense it is also very similar to the phenomenon of the arming of the Ukrainian partisans who feed on weapons stolen from Putin's armies , despite the lies of the imperialists, and their media that claim that the Ukrainian militias are supplied by NATO. Only 30% of Ukrainian weapons have arrived from NATO, 70% is the product of theft from the occupiers and its own production. NATO has taken care to deliver strategic weapons to the Ukrainian National Liberation Army to prevent the defeat and fall of Putin's dictatorship, which has resulted in the prolongation of Putin's agony and the unbearable hardships of war. for the Ukrainian people.
The other defeat that Israel is suffering is regarding the tunnels of the Palestinian militias. The Israeli government announced 4 months ago that it was going to destroy all militia tunnels in Gaza. However, 4 months later they could not enter the tunnels, there is no evidence of battles in the tunnels, and despite the bombings, massacres, and military operations, 80% of the resistance tunnels are intact as recognized by the media Israel 's Haaretz
Furthermore, the announcement by the Israeli government minister is an official recognition that Israel is a terrorist state that now publicly preaches state terrorism. Given the impossibility of defeating the Palestinian militias, the Israeli defense minister suggests that the "new phase" involves attacks and assassinations of the leaders of the militias, as well as Palestinian political leaders through "raids, air and ground activities and special operations." We already know what "special operations" means for the imperialists, and genocidal occupiers, murders of defenseless civilians, and attacks against political and social leaders of the Palestinian people.
The other defeat that Israel is suffering is the failure of the hostages. Israel promised that in a few days "all the hostages would be released," but after four months of fighting there is not the slightest possibility of recovery of the hostages, and those who have already died are the responsibility of the IDF that bombs locations killing its own citizens detained.
On January 22, the Israeli army suffered its most serious defeat in northern Gaza, leaving dozens of soldiers dead after being attacked by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) that caused a major detonation of a building. The IDF was victims of its own genocidal and terrorist tactics because the Israeli army had been dynamiting buildings in Gaza, but this murderous and criminal tactic, effective against vulnerable civilians, was what ended up crushing dozens of IDF soldiers.
The Israeli government lies about the death toll in that coup suffered by the IDF. The military action sealed the fate of Israeli troops in northern Gaza, and led to the government announcing the withdrawal of thousands of soldiers 15 days later. Now, after the defeat in northern Gaza, Palestinian municipal workers, rescuers, civil defense members and militias regained control of the area while the Palestinian militias recovered the ability to launch rockets from the Gaza Strip. Loop. On February 13, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement fired a volley of rockets toward a town in southern Israel adjacent to Beit Lahia, while jointly the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) fired rockets at Israeli towns. The victory in the battle in northern Gaza has consequences throughout the 3rd Intifada, and impacts the world situation.
Palestinian fighters spread throughout the West Bank, organized into militias that are mostly secular and do not respond to Islamic fundamentalism. These militias grow and develop among which the largest organization is the militia called "The Lions' Den." Born in the city of Nablus, it has spread throughout the occupied West Bank, as stated by the Palestinian journalist and analyst Mohamed Daraghmeh for the Hufftington Post. The Lions' Den points out Daraghmeh, they are willing to collaborate with any faction or militia in their fight against the Israeli occupation, and " They are a completely new phenomenon in the Palestinian arena," who explains that these young people have secular education, without embracing the Islamism.
All of these Brigades confront Israeli forces in multiple areas with various explosive devices in an average of nine locations a day in the West Bank. The Lions' Den was founded by young Palestinians such as Ibrahim Nabulsi, 18, Adham "Mabrouka" , 26, Mohamed al-Dakhil, 22, and Ashraf Mubaslat, 21. These young people were killed in different clashes since the outbreak of the 3rd Intifada on May 6, 2021, when Palestinians began to form popular militias after the eviction of 6 Palestinian families in Jerusalem.
Next to the Lions' Den, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Jenin, Tulkarm and Beit Ummar, the Jenin Brigades, and a whole series of Palestinian militias operate, a complex conglomerate that after the victory achieved on October 7, 2023 by Palestinian militias in Gaza, they spread from the city to the countryside throughout the West Bank. Precisely, the triumphs of October 7 led to Hamas once again having sympathy among the population of the West Bank, but 70% support these new formations of secular militias as reported by the Palestinian Center for Policy Research and Polls for the newspaper El Spanish.
The West Bank maintains a tradition of secularism stemming from long decades of the influence of Fatah and the historic Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. But given the betrayal that Fatah carried out when it accepted the Oslo accords and the "Two States" policy by recognizing Israel in 1993, many people turned to support Hamas in Gaza, and the new Islamic fundamentalist Palestinian formations that refuse to recognize Israel. Currently, the government of Mahmud Abbas and the Palestinian National Authority are very discredited and suffer great rejection from the population for their collaborationist role with the Israeli occupiers, and their policy of capitulation to imperialism.
In the West Bank where the process of political revolution that the world is going through is most clearly expressed. We call a political revolution the process by which all the old leaderships that controlled the mass movement for decades, such as Stalinism, social democracy, bourgeois nationalist movements such as the PRI, Chavismo, or Nasserism, Islamic fundamentalism, as well as also "autonomism" or "anarchism of the 21st century" embodied in the Zapatismo of Mexico. All of these currents are reformist and are in decline, they no longer group or contain the best activists that emerge in revolutions.
In Palestine the political revolution is expressed in the emergence of this conglomerate of militias that are not Islamic fundamentalists. In that sense, the process of development of militias in the West Bank expresses the new process of rupture with Islamic fundamentalism developed since the Second Arab Spring. The Second Arab Spring began in 2019, picking up the prominence of women as the development of the Rojava Revolution, and advancing the revolution against the dictatorship of the Ayatollah in Iran, against Bashar Al Assad in Syria, against the capitalist governments in Iraq, and against the Hezbollah government in Lebanon.
In that sense, our policy is unconditional support for the Palestinian militias, including the Islamic fundamentalists, but at the same time and simultaneously, support for the process of political revolution in Palestinian activism. We support the development and emergence of new secular militias or those linked to Marxism, stimulating the break with the Islamic fundamentalist leaderships that have a reactionary policy and ideology of support for the Arab bourgeoisies, and a retrograde theocratic program in favor of the dictatorships that oppress the people. like those of Iran.
The development of these revolutionary processes has developed a whole new activism that fights for secularism, which is found in the Gaza militia formations such as the PFLP and the FDLP, but which is much more developed in the West Bank. This fight forced the Biden government to sign 15 days ago an executive order that allows the United States to impose financial and visa sanctions on settlers and foreigners involved in attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, as reported by Politico.
The US State Department sanctioned four Israeli settlers in the West Bank after the executive order went into effect. These measures taken by the imperialist Biden government, as well as the investigation into crimes against humanity carried out by the International Tribunal against Israel promoted by South Africa, do not mean that capitalist or imperialist governments have become "humanist" or "progressive.". Rather, they are the superstructural expression of the triumphs achieved by the Palestinian resistance, and the pressure exerted on governments by the powerful global mobilization in favor of Palestine, all of which makes the struggle in the West Bank strengthen and extend to the entire area.
One of the most serious blows that Israel has suffered since the development of the 3rd Intifada is the displacement suffered by more than 80 thousand Israelis who lived near the border between Lebanon and Israel as a result of the systematic bombing that Hezbollah carries out against barracks, radars, and critical infrastructure of Israel. This forced the Netanhayu government to evacuate all towns, cities and moshavim farming communities within a several kilometer radius of the Lebanese border.
Hezbollah rockets hit and damaged the IDF Northern Command headquarters in Safed, northern Israel, on February 14, 2024, causing deaths and injuries from rockets launched from the town of Ramish in southern Lebanon to northern Israel. The Iron Dome that Israel has as protection has been notably punished, and overstretched among other things by the constant bombing that Hezbollah has been carrying out, which means that on many occasions the shield fails to intercept Hezbollah's rockets. The blows are forceful as pointed out by the Times of Israel, as is the case of the second attack of this type against the base of Mount Meron.
Israel demanded Hezbollah withdraw about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the border, about eight to ten kilometers north of the Litani River. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reiterated that Israel's top priority is to allow displaced Israeli citizens to return to their homes in northern Israel in a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on January 9, 2024.
But Hezbollah rejected these demands from Israel, because they imply an interference in the sovereignty of its territory. The displacement of the Israeli population causes the economic paralysis of farms and agricultural communities, which means large daily losses that hit Israel hard, in the midst of a process of growing economic and social dislocation that the Zionist state is experiencing, fully impacted by the 3rd Intifada.
Even imperialism itself is faced with unforeseen events, which has forced Senator Susan Collins to raise the need to legislate on the supply of the US Central Command (USCC), that is, the Pentagon fleet that is in charge of the Middle East region, which is rapidly depleting its funds. The senators' concern is to approve multiple rounds of financing, as the 3rd Intifada depletes the regular resources that the US and Israel have. The entire deployment of additional troops and warships to the Middle East over the past 4 months has cost more than $1.6 billion, and even the Pentagon estimates the cost will be $2.2 billion over the course of the year.
The massive call-up of Israeli reservists, who make up almost 10% of the workforce, has affected Israel's high-tech industries, public services and small family businesses, while displacement and the repercussions of the war They have paralyzed up to 20% of the active population. As a consequence of the attacks of October 7, 2023 and the fighting in the north and the rest of the fronts, there are mass evacuations of cities and towns in Israel with some 175,000 Israelis now living in hotels and temporary accommodation. On the other hand, there is a mass exodus of Israelis returning to their countries of origin.
Schools have remained closed for weeks, forcing parents to look for childcare, and the opening of the new academic year at universities has been postponed. Israel's gas fields in the Mediterranean suffer closures and paralysis. Tourism has practically collapsed, the Old City of Jerusalem has been left without foreigners and Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem have been cancelled.
The entire construction industry, whose workforce is primarily West Bank Palestinians, has come to a standstill after Israel suspended the work permits of more than 100,000 Palestinians. The Bank of Israel reports that there has been a 20% increase in mortgage arrears since the war began, unemployment has increased by 10 percentage points, from 5% to 15%. According to Yedioth Ahronoth , the cost of Israel's war against Gaza amounts to $272 million per day and will cost at least $60 billion, more than 10% of the country's GDP.
Any capitalist government attempting to govern Israel into the future faces the reality that Israel's economy suffers from a deficit that will require budget cuts that will be deeply felt in terms of quality of life and reduced services for Israelis in general. This comes as tax revenues have plummeted and Israel's credit rating has fallen from A1 to A2, Moody's has announced. The Bank of Israel has forecast lower growth rates, which will fall from 3% in 2023 to 1% in 2024 meaning that Israel's economy is falling into a recession. Hezbollah's bombings combined with the resistance fight in the West Bank, in Gaza, which cause massive displacement of the population of Israel, act to degrade the conditions of existence of the Zionist state, establishing the perspective of its destruction and defeat.
4th front of the 3rd Intifada: The Battle of Syria
US troops in Iraq and Syria have been attacked more than 160 times by resistance militias operating in the region. On January 27, 2024, an attack carried out from Syria by militias against NATO bases in Jordan dealt a heavy blow to imperialist military installations, causing the death of 3 United States Army soldiers, and at least 34 were injured, eight of whom were medically evacuated to a hospital in Germany. In retaliation, on February 7, 2024, the United States killed a high-ranking member of Iraq's Kataib Hezbollah militia, Wissam Mohammed Al Saiedi, by bombing his car. shot from a drone.
The battle in Syria is causing a crisis in imperialism, the Pentagon, and an evaluation of the possibility of withdrawal of US military bases in Syria as reported by Foreign Policy. Although the withdrawal of the bases is not the most likely prospect, the attacks suffered by the United States have forced imperialism to evaluate the permanence of its bases in Syria.
For several weeks now, Israel has repeatedly bombed areas of Damascus, a matter confirmed by the Syrian Ministry of Defense which reported that militants and civilians have been killed. The official readout from the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) described that "The facilities that were attacked included command and control operations centers, intelligence centers, rocket and missile, and unmanned aerial vehicle warehouses, and logistics and munitions supply chain of militia groups that facilitated attacks against US and Coalition forces."
Militias are using "kamikaze" or "suicide" drones en masse , but experts say they are better defined as small cruise missiles. They are part of the so-called "loitering" munitions, which fly passively over the target area and attack only when they find the target. T he attack tactic of kamikaze drones, as indicated by their colloquial name, is to explode and destroy themselves on the enemy target to cause maximum damage.
The militias use this weaponry to hit property and assets of imperialism and Israel in Syria. And they also hit imperialist assets in Jordan at Tower 22 in Jordan. They have also carried out a drone attack on the Al-Omar oil field, the largest base of the US-led coalition in the country, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said .
The Al-Omar oil field has come to symbolize the years of US military occupation of Syria's only oil and gas-rich region, which produced enough energy for Syria's domestic consumption, also used by the Pentagon as a base of operations in the town of Deir Ezzor, Syria. The al-Alam news network reported the morning explosion in the oil field caused by rockets fired from Badiah al-Mayadeen towards the US occupation station.
5th front of the 3rd Intifada: Victory of the Houthis in the Red Sea
Another resounding and spectacular victory obtained by the 3rd Intifada is the one achieved in the Red Sea when the ships of the United States and England lost the naval battle in the Red Sea against the Houthis between January 21 and 27. That week the United States Navy attempted to escort two American-owned and flagged container ships through the Bab el-Mandah Strait into the Red Sea, but they had to flee precipitously after being attacked by Houthi ballistic missiles .
In this way, the Yemeni resistance seized the strategic advantage by de facto controlling a key geoeconomic bottleneck: the Bab el-Mandah, on the Red Sea. The Houthis are a secularly oppressed indigenous people who live in Yemen and during the Arab Spring they took power in the "September 21 Revolution" , which consisted of a series of protests in August 2014 against the increase in fuel prices that ended the September 21 with the seizure of the main government buildings in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen.
As of January 22, 2015 they formed a Governing Council headed by the Ansar Allah Coalition that demands a fair distribution of national wealth by expelling Saudi Arabia and US rule from Yemen. The Houthis, named after the last name of the leader of the movement Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi who died in 2004, had to face the launch of a war by imperialism and Saudi Arabia, which ended up becoming a Vietnam for Saudi Arabia that It cost Riyadh at least $6 billion a month for seven years. Finally, the Houthi troops achieved the agreement in 2022 with a de facto victory for the militias, an agreement that the United States has rejected, but that Saudi Arabia had to sign because it could no longer bear the cost of the war.
The military action of Houthi fighters in support of Palestine is an extraordinary example of bravery and action in defense of Palestine that began on November 19, 2023 when they climbed onto the deck of the Galaxy Leader, a ship of which Israeli billionaire Rami Ungar is owner. In this action, the Houthi fighters took 25 members of the ship's crew hostage, and have transformed it into a tourist attraction center for the population.
From there, they have carried out drone and missile attacks against 10 merchant ships linked to more than 35 different nations, which has disrupted maritime traffic in the Red Sea bound for Israel, including attacks against container ships, both with Liberian flag, off the coast of Yemen. Imperialism announced Operation Prosperity Guardian to protect commercial ships in the Red Sea and began launching bombing raids on Yemen's cities on January 11, 2024, but Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree responded shortly after by saying : "These attacks will not dissuade us from our position"
The attacks of imperialism have not stopped the attacks of the Houthi rebels around the Bab al-Mandah Strait. Japanese shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd. today issued a warning that shipping disruptions could extend for up to a year, indicating that expectations of short-term disruptions are quickly fading. On January 26, the Houthis attacked the Marlin Luanda tanker, owned by JP Morgan, with a ballistic missile, setting a cargo tank on fire. The tanker was chartered by the Trafigura trading company and loaded with Russian gasoline. Since then, the 3rd Intifada has been causing a crisis in relation to the control of navigation in the Red Sea, causing serious problems for sectors of the supply chains, trade and finance of global capitalism.
"Red Sea diversions are increasing as continued attacks on ships in the region are causing more shipping companies to avoid transiting the area," Jefferies shipping analyst Omar Nokta said in a client note.
The vast majority of larger container ships already avoid the Red Sea, and diversions are rapidly extending to bulk cargo shipping, which accounts for nearly 15% of global maritime trade, including 8% of global grain trade. , 12% of oil trade and 8% of global liquefied natural gas trade.
This crisis in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal are causing a sustained increase in commercial maritime transport rates that are "out of control" which can aggravate global inflation and the global crisis of capitalism. By dominating Bab el-Mandeb the Houthis control not only the route from Bab el-Mandeb and the Red Sea to the Suez Canal, but also the Strait of Hormuz, cutting off the supply of oil and gas to Israel from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
French container shipping giant CMA CGM has announced the suspension of all its Red Sea transit due to safety risks, joining a growing list of major companies that now consider the area too unsafe. The Bloomberg note further confirms that "CMA CGM will continue to operate in the northern Red Sea but will not send its fleets through the southern part, which is inevitable for any ship seeking to use Egypt's Suez Canal to go between Europe and Asia". With each addition of a major shipping company, there is further confirmation that the US-led " Operation Prosperity Guardian" is failing.
Until this week, CMA-CGM had continued to send some ships through the vital transit passage despite almost daily missile and drone attacks by the Houthis, only with the support of French naval escort. But at this point it seems that even the large presence of Western warships is not enough. The facts of reality are compelling and show the global disaster that imperialism, Israel and capitalism are suffering at the hands of the 3rd Intifada.
The Popular Mobilization Forces (FMP), also known as the Popular Mobilization Units (UMP) is composed of approximately 67 different armed factions, with around 60,000 combatants. They were formed in 2014 in the fight against ISIS, and have acted in almost all major battles. The organization is made up of about 60 to 70 brigades, and its 45th, 46th and 47th brigades have been declared "terrorist" by the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and the United States. On January 12, militias attacked the US base in the Syrian oil field of Conoco, in northeastern Syria, from Iraq.
In response, the United States assassinated Mushtaq Jawad Kazim al-Jawari, commander of an Iraqi militia on February 7, 2024. The Pentagon press release called the militia a "terrorist group" and stated that the attack was in "self-defense." " . Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani criticized the assassination and announced that Iraqi and American representatives would soon meet to discuss the departure of American troops from Iraq, saying that the justifications for the coalition's existence "are over." , as reported by Reuters.
Since the October 7 attacks by Palestinian militias, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) militias have launched at least 70 attacks against US forces in Iraq More than 100 parliamentarians called for an emergency parliamentary session following the US attack on October 7 February that killed a senior Kataib Hezbollah commander in Baghdad. The acting president of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen al Mandalawi, ordered the formation of a parliamentary committee to "support" the Iraqi federal government's negotiations with the United States to end the US-led international coalition's mission in Iraq.
Washington and Baghdad began talks on the status of the US-led coalition mission to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria on January 27. US-led coalition forces have been deployed to Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi federal government since 2014 to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced on Jan. 25 that the U.S.-Iraq Higher Military Commission (HMC), composed of officials from the U.S. and Iraqi federal governments, will soon hold "group meetings." work" to assess the status of the coalition's mission to defeat ISIS.
We do not see it as likely that the United States will withdraw its bases from Iraq, but there is no doubt that since the 3rd Intifada there has been a crisis with the permanence of the imperialist bases in both Syria and Iraq, due to the repudiation generated by the United States alliance. with Israel. It is the 3rd Intifada, the mobilization of the Palestinian people, and the global mobilization in the Middle East that is questioning the entire imperialist "order" in the Middle East, and pushes capitalist governments to these emergency negotiations, which under "normal" conditions , would not exist.
Along with all this, an enormous and massive global mass mobilization in favor of Palestine has been unleashed, which constitutes a fundamental support base for the actions of the Palestinian and Arab militias. Support for Palestine is widespread in countries like the United States, a phenomenon centered above all on American youth. So big that imperialist media outlets like the Wall Street Journal denounce cities like Dearborn in Michigan as the "Jihad Capital of America "
The explosion of this global mobilization, as we have already stated, constitutes the 3rd Intifada as a process of global mass mobilization that is equaling the great global mobilizations in support of Ukraine, and reaches the levels of the mass mobilizations in support to Iraq, or in support of Vietnam.
A first characteristic of the global mobilization that is part of the 3rd Palestinian Intifada is that its epicenter is the main cities and countries of the world such as New York, Paris, London, Mexico City, Baghdad, Madrid, Rome, Tehran, Montreal, Ottawa , Sydney, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, plus all major cities in Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia.
A second characteristic of the global mobilization is that it has divided the Jews of the world, and has allowed the emergence of an extraordinary anti-Zionist Jewish movement throughout the world of which some of its demonstrations are, for example, the one that occurred on October 27, 2023 when the activist group Jewish Voice for Peace (Spanish, Jewish Voices for Peace) occupied the central hall of Grand Central Station in New York with several hundred people. A third characteristic of the global mobilization is that it deeply hits imperialism, all the capitalist governments of the world and their institutions, it causes ministerial crises, crises in the capitalist and imperialist political parties, crises in the institutions of the regime, and crises of organizations. international organizations such as the UN.
A fourth characteristic of the global mobilization is that it develops the emergence of a huge group of activists, of thousands who take up the flag of Palestine and carry it forward as part of their struggle, among them the youngest people around the world. A fifth characteristic of the global mobilization that is part of the 3rd Palestinian Intifada is that a significant part of this global vanguard of activists is progressively radicalizing, and evolving towards more anti-capitalist positions, close to Marxism and confronting the politics of capitalist parties, the UN, or the Progressive International of "Cease Fire" , "Against Genocide" , or "For Peace".
Another more radicalized current is emerging that raises slogans such as "Free Palestine", "Globalizing the Intifada" or the slogan "From the river to the sea" which is a popularization of the slogan "For a secular, democratic and non-racist Palestinian state." from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, which we built from Marxism, which implies the destruction of the State of Israel as we built from Marxism. A sixth characteristic of the global mobilization is that the emergence of this increasingly radicalized activism causes a crisis throughout the world left.
The existence of a world revolution and thousands of activists raising slogans of support for the 3rd Intifada destroys 99% of the reformist, campist, evasionist, Stalinist left that carries out the "For Peace" policy of the progressive International. Bernie Sanders' statements in favor of the state of Israel have introduced a serious crisis in the DSA and Syriza, the organizations that are the basis of the Progressive International, and drag down the organizations of the world left that are supporting the " Two States" policy. " .
There are examples of activists around the world who confront the politics of the 99% of the world left, such as the declaration of the Colombian Front Line that has publicly demonstrated in support of the Palestinian militias. But perhaps the most important example of all in the world is that of the Committee for the Liberation of Palestine (CPLP) in Mexico. The CPLP is an extraordinary example where activists whose positions confront the Morena government have been grouped, and the pacifist policy of the UN and the progressive International have adopted positions of political independence from capitalist parties and governments.
The CPLP of Mexico is an example to follow in every sense. It is made up of activists from different traditions and political backgrounds and has been equipped with an important organization, policy and declaration of Principles that are a true example for all activists in the world.
Until now, the CPLP constitutes the most advanced political experience of grouping around support for the Palestinian revolution that we are aware of. This is a unique and extraordinary case that has not yet emerged in other countries, where the leadership of the movement is being assumed by capitalist parties and the organizations of imperialism, including NGOs financed by the World Bank.
The CPLP has had the ability to gather among its ranks the most prominent of revolutionary activism that understands the need to support the 3rd Intifada, and at the same time defends the principles of political independence, class independence, proletarian internationalism, the struggle against machismo, racism and all forms of structural oppression implicit in the capitalist system. The CPLP has known how to organize important mobilizations of hundreds of comrades in Mexico, some of them usurped by the opportunist front/NGOs, it has known how to create unity in action with other groups that support Palestine (such as the Common Platform for Palestine, with which have profound political and programmatic differences), has been able to prepare materials, flyers, pamphlets, statements, has carried out various campaigns and has established a network of supporters in various parts of Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries.
CPLP activists have not surrendered to the permanent harassment of the government apparatus, which has proposed as task #1, destroying said independent group that escapes its control.
On the contrary, the CPLP has raised its voice more powerfully, denouncing every act of intimidation, every slander, every intrigue, every act of political persecution, every act of harassment against its militants, making its way despite the attack that the government has mounted against him through professional provocateurs. Despite all these adversities, the CPLP has gained its own physiognomy and personality, advancing in the organization of Mexican activism. We think that this example should be emulated by all activists in the world who raise the slogan "from the river to the sea" and are for the end of apartheid, and the end of the occupation of Palestine, as well as the destruction of the Nazi State of Israel.
The CPLP has the potential to spread internationally. Not only has it already established itself as a pole of attraction for Mexican activism, but, as a result of the existence of more radicalized currents of support for Palestine throughout the world, it has become a political reference through social networks. for activists from other countries such as the United States, Canada, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, etc. That is to say, the CPLP has the possibility of extending its influence to other countries and continents, twinned with activists who are looking for an organization that raises the slogan "From the River to the Sea" with clear programmatic axes, at the same time that defends a policy of principles.
The Marxist and revolutionary organizations of the world will politically support to the extent of our possibilities this extraordinary example that the CPLP represents. This global grouping of revolutionaries, around support for the world's revolutions, means aiming at the development of the construction of a revolutionary leadership on an international scale, outside of the reformist organizations and fronts that advocate for Israel's right to exist. The 3rd Palestinian Intifada has inspired this type of organization, which due to its permanent nature and development as an armed insurrection, can destroy Israel as a State, and then continue its task against the Arab governments themselves that have refused to provide material and political aid. as well as against dictatorships, and imperialist-capitalism in general, which is in a state of crisis and decadence in all aspects.
The 3rd Intifada has exposed Israel as a Nazi state completely in crisis, in a state of decay, and vulnerable. The slogan of the destruction of the State of Israel, which in other times was for propaganda, has become a slogan for action to the extent that world mobilizations raise the slogan "From the river to the sea." From Marx International we are calling for global support for the 3rd Palestinian Intifada, which on all its fronts is repeating the epic of the Vietnamese people when they managed to defeat North American imperialism, only at a higher level.
As the Palestinian revolution advances, it deepens its permanent character, destroying devices, clay idols, unmasking the false friends and collaborationist entities of Zionism, as well as the half-measures that seek the preservation of a Nazi State through a crusade "for peace."
To the extent that this revolution becomes permanent, it not only destroys what has already been mentioned, but also deepens its anti-capitalist character. Today, there is a broad boycott campaign against all North American and purely Israeli companies, putting at its core the fight against multinationals that finance the massacre of tens of thousands of innocent people, it is not a war against Hamas or some "terrorist group", but a war of extermination against the Palestinian people, who has risen up like David against Goliath, aiming directly at the head of the United States watchdog in the Middle East, that is, against the Nazi State of Israel .
Long live the revolutionary war of the Palestinian people!
Yankees out of rebel territory!
End of occupation and apartheid!
For the destruction of the Nazi State of Israel!
From the river to the sea, Palestine will win!
